Star Wars: 10 Best Games On Nintendo Switch

Star Wars games have been around for a long time and have a lot of history. They range from groundbreaking, generation-defining games like Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) to fast-paced arcade classics like Episode 1: Racer. Many of these old favorites are now playable on the Nintendo Switch.

Even though the Switch isn’t the most powerful device, many of these games make a great transition to the new generation. Some go above and beyond their previous graphical and performance limits, while others have a few hiccups when played on a handheld. Even so, these games are still some of the best ways to enjoy Star Wars.

Star Wars Hunters (2023)

This mobile and Switch Star Wars game is currently being soft-launched for Android devices in a few Asian areas, but it won’t be coming to your Switch until 2023. In an intense four-on-four third-person fight, Star Wars Hunters has bounty hunters, heroes, and Imperial Stormtroopers on its team.

In this game with a focus on PvP, strategy is important because you will need to use special skills and powers to win. You can also change the way your fighters look. There are famous places like Hoth, Tattooine, and Endor where you can fight big battles, giving you a strategic Star Wars experience unlike anything we’ve seen before.

Star Wars Pinball (2019)

Star Wars Pinball is just like the popular arcade game you’d expect it to be, but with a cleverly branded twist. The levels are set up as tasks, and each pinball arena is based on a famous place, like the Death Star, which gives each stage a unique feel and great sound design.

At first glance, places like Tatooine look pretty empty and still, but as you earn more points, the level will adjust and change. It will add more ships, creatures, and Star Wars elements as you ping the metal ball through loops and carefully time your flippers to send in reinforcements that increase your score and start complex action scenes in the background.

Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (2020)

When the popular Jedi Knight series makes the Force Jump from our PC towers to our hands, PC gamers from the early 2000s are likely to fall into a pit of nostalgia.

Jedi Academy is the fifth game in the Jedi Knight series. It puts you in the role of Jaden Korr, who is Kyle Katarn’s student. Even though switching between third-person and first-person may be a little confusing at first, the series does it well, even on the Switch, which isn’t usually thought of as a first-person shooter platform.

Episode 1: Racer (2020)

If you were old enough to go to arcades in the early 2000s, you might be excited to finally be able to take Podracing with you wherever you go. If you were looking for Kyle Katarn, you don’t have to look any further. One of the best main characters in the Star Wars universe is back to kill Stormtroopers and Sith on his way across the world. Jedi Outcast is still the best book in the series for many fans, and for good reason: Kyle shows you how powerful the Force can be.

Simply put, Snake Game is a fun game where you swing your sword and use the Force. It gives you a lot of power in the palm of your hand. The game’s theory is based on finding new ways to deal with situations we’ve seen before, like a room full of Stormtroopers or a base full of Sith, and it gives you the tools to do so.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (2022)

The newest Star Wars game for Switch got a lot of attention because it was one of the most in-depth and fun Lego games to date. This brick-based recreation of the movies gives equal attention to both well-known places and worlds that don’t show up very often.

The Force Unleashed (2022)

Fans of the Jedi Knight series will notice that this no-holds-barred Force Power festival takes a lot of ideas from the PC original. Starkiller’s control of the Dark Side goes beyond pulling ships out of the sky. He is also very good at using Force Lightning, which he can use to kill any enemy very quickly.

Those who played the platform version will find it hard to get used to the Switch controls at first, but once you do, you’ll feel the Force flow through your fingers just as you did in 2008. As you might expect, being Darth Vader’s student is still a lot of fun, and throwing Stormtroopers around never gets old.

Knights Of The Old Republic 2 (2022)

Fans have come to expect a lot of the same charm and oddities from the widely unfinished Obsidian classic. KOTOR 2 was never a perfect example of a top-notch, airtight game design, but it is still a great example of subtlety in a world where Light and Dark are generally black and white.

Plus, it’s fun to change the color of your blade.

There are a few glitches and game-breaking bugs that can make your experience less fun, but many of them have been solved since then. With its loot and study of the gray areas of the Force, KOTOR 2 builds on the sequel and will make you question everything you thought you knew about good and evil in the Star Wars universe.

Republic Commando (2021)

Republic Commando is one of the Star Wars games that doesn’t get enough attention. In it, you handle an elite clone trooper and his squad of weirdos. The game is like Tom Clancy in that it focuses on teamwork, planning, and careful positioning instead of the run-and-gun style of games like Jedi Outcast or The Force Unleashed.

The game’s story takes place between The Clone Wars and Revenge of the Sith. It takes you through a number of secret missions that have huge effects on the war effort. This dark take on Star Wars switches between a tactical shooter and a horror game, giving you a unique, hyper-realistic view of the series and putting the focus on the word “War” in Star Wars.

Knights Of The Old Republic (2021)

The crown jewel of Star Wars games has stood the test of time and is still a great example of how powerful a Star Wars role-playing game can be, even outside of the movies. From doing every side quest on Dantooine over and over again to community-made challenge runs, there are many different ways to enjoy this work.

The story of Revan, a Jedi Knight who turned to the Dark Side and destroyed the Jedi Order before being redeemed and praised as the best model of a Gray Jedi, is the game’s main draw. Revan’s story shows how thin the line between Light and Dark is, giving you the power to walk that line, fully accept the Light, or give in to the allure of darkness.

The Switch doesn’t do much to improve the old-fashioned fighting, but maybe this will be fixed in a remake that will come out a very long time from now.
